25 Years Later

We have been curating extremity in sound for 25 years this year.

With Helios and regular life chaos of the past few years, it didn’t dawn on me until recently that it’s our 25th anniversary this year. The cliche truism of “time flies when you’re having fun” is actually true, especially as you get old. What is it about aging that makes time feel more urgent? My friend Jason theorizes that it’s because we have less years ahead of us than behind us, and that somehow speeds up our perception of time. Whatever the case it’s undeniable that we all feel the urgency as we get into our 40s and 50s. What’s our purpose? Why are we here? I have no clear answers to any of these questions, but I know for sure that I enjoy what I do and will continue to run NWN until I drop dead.

I will turn 49 tomorrow. I started NWN when I was 24. I plan on living for another 30 years so we should be celebrating another milestone in 25 years. Wake me up when I’m there because I’m living my dream life.
